Manifestation Series · Part II — Releasing Resistance and Why It Matters

28/08/2025

August 28th  On some days, I realize the only thing standing between me and what I want… is me.

This reflection is the second part of my Manifestation Series — A Soft Guide, you can read the Part I: The Core of Manifestation: Decision vs. Programming here

The Quiet Handbrake of Manifestation

We talk a lot about manifesting — visualizing, affirming, dreaming.
But one of the most overlooked parts of the process is letting go of resistance.

Resistance is that quiet, invisible handbrake you keep on without realizing it.
It shows up as fear (What if I'm not worthy of this?), doubt (Could this really happen for me?), or the need to control every detail (If I don't make it happen, it won't happen).

The truth is, resistance slows everything down. You can still move forward, but it takes more energy, more frustration, and more time.

My Own Resistance Story

For me, resistance often came from a place of wanting something so badly that I clung to it with both hands. It felt like the tighter I held on, the safer it would be, but in reality, the opposite was true. The tighter I held on, the more suffocating the energy became.

And I know how hard it is when you want something so much it hurts.

One of the biggest examples in my life was love. I wanted a safe, stable relationship so badly — a partner to share everyday life with. At times, the longing turned into quiet desperation. I was so focused on finding him that I wasn't fully living my life.

After working through my shadows and trauma, something shifted. I accepted where I was. I looked at my life — just me and my dog — and thought: This is completely fine. I can be happy like this.

We moved forward. My dog and I moved into a new, bigger apartment with a little yard. I poured my energy into making it a home, into enjoying my days. And honestly, I could have and still could live a perfectly happy life just the two of us.

But here's the thing: just one week after moving in, I met my current partner.
No effort. No desperate searching. Just alignment.

Why Releasing Resistance Matters

When you stop resisting, you stop sending out the energy of lack. You're no longer telling the universe, "I don't have this, I need this now."

Instead, you're saying, "I'm okay. I'm grateful. I trust."

That shift opens the door for life to surprise you in ways you couldn't even imagine. And remember, resistance itself isn't something to feel ashamed of, it only means you cared deeply. Learning to soften that grip is part of the path.

On a physiological level, resistance often lives in the nervous system. When we're in fight-or-flight mode, the body clings to control because it thinks it's keeping us safe. Practices like grounding, deep breathing, or mindful routines gently tell the body: It's okay. You can trust now. This creates the space where manifestation flows more naturally.

How to Release Resistance

Releasing resistance isn't about pretending you don't care, or forcing yourself to "just let go." It's about creating gentle practices that remind your mind and body they are safe. These small shifts, repeated over time, help soften the grip of fear and control.

Feel your feelings — Allow fear, sadness, or frustration to exist without pushing them away.

Stay present — Focus on what's beautiful right now, not what's missing.

Detach from the "how" — Trust that the details will take care of themselves.

Live your life — Do the things that bring you joy now, not when your manifestation arrives.

If you can live fully, even without the thing you desire, you create space for it to arrive — often sooner than you think.

Try gentle affirmations like:

"I release the need to control."

"Life supports me, even when I don't know how."

"I am safe to receive, even when I let go."

A Gentle Question for You

So I'll ask you: Where in your life are you still keeping the handbrake on? Is it in love, in your career, in money, or in the way you see yourself? What would it feel like to loosen the grip, even just a little, and trust that life can carry you? 💜

This reflection is the second part of my Manifestation Series — A Soft Guide.
Part I: The Core of Manifestation: Decision vs. Programming
Part II: Releasing Resistance
Part III: The Art of Surrender (coming soon)

We begin by deciding what we want. Then we soften resistance. And in the final part, we'll explore the art of surrender — how to release attachment to the outcome and let life surprise us in its own timing.
